If you are looking for a hands on community based experience you have come to the right place. Our volunteers work directly in the community helping neighbors pass on their unneeded household items and using them to create a true HOME for our clients. Our clients are made up of individuals and families that are transitioning into sustainable housing with little to no belongings. 
 
Once a client is accepted to the program, our design team meets with them to identify needs for the living environment. Our leadership team works hard to put together all of the needed items from our donations for each move-in. Volunteers arrive in one of four teams for the move-in to create a transformational space for our clients.

Our general shifts for move-ins are below. Please select the best spot for you: 
 
Move-In Opportunities by Team 
 
Prep Team: 2 Volunteers will head to the client location ahead of the move-in team and spend the hour making sure all items are clear for the move-in crew. You will help the client if needed to prep the space. The client is responsible for removal of unneeded items. Team will work with other volunteers to complete the move-in. 
 
Loading Team: 5 Volunteers will head to Life Storage and help load the van as well as their vehicles before heading to the client's location. Please have a mid-large size vehicle nearly empty upon arrival at Life Storage. Volunteers will help load and then caravan to the client's location. Team will work with other volunteers to complete the move-in. 
 
On-Site Team: 5 Volunteers will head direct to the client's location. You will help unload the van and vehicles into the apartment and then work with the other volunteers to complete the move-in. 
 
Leadership Team: 5 Volunteers from the Home 2 Home Leadership team will be onsite for all steps of the move-in.
